WRIN Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation based in North Central Victoria, dedicated to rescuing wildlife and providing information to members of the public.
My role with WRIN is as a committee member, and also a wildlife rescuer. I am also on the way to becoming a wildlife carer.
At each of the general meetings, WRIN holds an information session. Sessions in the past have included topics such as nesting boxes, bees, wildlife rescue training, kangaroos, as well as many more.
On top of these WRIN sessions, I like to attend external workshops to gain skills and knowledge that will help me to assist injured wildlife. I attended a bat information session with another WRIN member in August 2022.
Wildlife Rescue Queensland
I was a wildlife rescuer with Wildlife Rescue Queensland, and connected with many wildlife carers where I would assist with a feed session if they needed a break.
There were also times I would help to chop up large tubs of fruit to feed to bats that were waiting to be released into the wild – “soft-release”.
