In 2009, I was proud to be School Captain of Ilfracombe State School.
In 2009, I won the Dux Award, presented by Ilfracombe State School principal, Brendon Thorpe; as well as the Jean McMaster Perpetual Award, presented by QCWA President, Joyce Rogers.
When my hometown of Ilfracombe celebrated the Centenary of Australia’s First Motor Mail Service, I won Best Dressed. The Mail Service ran between Ilfracombe and neighbouring town, Isisford, from 1910.
Here I am, pictured with my sisters, and on the truck parading with teachers and students from the school I previously attended.
I won the Clover Nolan Award (Winner) at the Waltzing Matilda Junior Bush Poetry Festival in Winton in 2010. I recited the poem “We’re all Australians now” by A. B. “Banjo” Paterson in front of the hundreds of people whom attended.

I was the narrator in a play for the Ilfracombe State School Presentation Night in 2008.
In 2008, I was also presented a Science Award…
…and Best Student Award.
Wally Rae Sports Carnival Award Winner – given to the student who not only participated in all sport events, but also put in a considerable amount of effort for each event.
